Often, large quantities of H2S warrant the installation of a Sulfur Recovery Unit (SRU) when the H2S cannot be safely disposed of through reinjection into a reservoir well. When reinjection is not available, an SRU may be required to separate the H2S into elemental sulfur, which can then be sold.
